Herbal Note...

Hello All...
I have been so busy between home and farm that I am feeling guilty for not updating this blog! Not a great photo, but still interesting. In the cylinder vase there are 2 sprigs of rosemary from my garden. Rosemary takes root FAST. I need some at the farm to plant around the cabin. Great way to propogate your own!


There is also a sprig of Lettuce Leaf Basil to the left of the Rosemary. It roots well also! I will have more to save for winter. I freeze some basil in "ice cube" containers...had to go to mama's house for those! Then put cubes in zip loc baggies for spaghetti and other sauces in winter....

To the right you will notice the Brandywine pumpkin, ooppss, TOMATO! It was delicious, by the way!

It's Not Too Late!

Just in case you are kicking yourself when all your friends have veggie gardens, but not you...It is time for some fall planting. Yes, right now in the middle of June.

According to the UGA Planting Chart, it is time to plant the following:

* Bush Beans

* Pole Beans

* Lima Beans

* Corn, til about 7/20

* Eggplant

* Sweet Potatoes, if you can find what I didn't buy at Lowe's!

* Tomatoes

So go dig in!

Home Garden Catch Up...

This is supposed to be "home garden" catch up, but thought I'd throw in that the bees at the farm are doing great!

Once again, it's so good to come home, jump out of the car, and head to the garden! My tomatoes are producing like crazy. Especially the "Sungold" variety. I picked a shirt full this evening(bottom pic). The "Brandywine" tomato is huge, but not yet pink. Will wait.

Our "Royal Burgandy" bush beans are flowering. The okra has little flowers and tiny okra pods! These(left) are the "Red Noodle" beans that will cover the arbor!

Picked a couple of tomatoes from the patio tom I stuck in the ground.

Here are some pics of tonite's harvest...

Oh, many thanks to Zack who tended my garden while I was away for 5 days! The grass is dead, but the garden is green!!
